The Ruidera Lagoons have been the setting for the filming of Miguel and William’s film, Spanish-English production on the life of Cervantes and Shakespeare, as well as the film “El Capitán Trueno”.

The Lagoons of Ruidera, with its peculiar landscape, bewitched the own Miguel de Cervantes, and I consider well they could be “created like by enchantment of the magician Merlin” and this same place developed some passages of his great work Don Quixote of the Mancha. Ruidera is at present the natural enclave of Cervantes par excellence and without a doubt scenario of the adventures of Don Quixote and Sancho.

It is not difficult to imagine his sad figure cutting off the reddish horizon of the lagoons and the Field of Montiel.
